The following images are of a rare display of the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) in the sky over "Heart of America": the Central, Mid West.
These photos were captured in late October 2003 during a 4 night time frame of heavy, Sunspot activity between the nights of October 28th and October 31st.
All photos were done with the Olympus C-2100uz.
All photos were taken between the hours of 1 AM and 4 AM CDT.

The photo location was in the country side away from the city lights. However, the rare aurora borealis lights turned a black night into "day" and provided a colorful light show for the Central Midwest.
