When I started uploading to catch up on the PaD, I realized that I had missed a day but I didn't think that I did. I knew that I had a photo to account for the day but didn't have it on my computer. Then it hit me as I was lying in my rack tonight. MCPON.
On the 12th, the Chief of Naval Operations and the Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy stopped by the ship for a quick visit. After the all hands call, the MCPON was taking photos with sailors. While I didn't have any intention of getting in line to take a photo with him, a friend of mine had an important question to ask him but was afraid to do so. That is where I step in to help take that friend to him. It worked. The question was asked but it wasn't the answer she was really looking for but in the end it looks like it may work out for her.
At one point I would have warned this guy that I was out to get his job. Not anymore though. Now that the Early Retirement program is back on the table, that looks much better.
Just so nobody thinks that I converted, I did not take this with a D700. Unfortunately the Navy uses Nikon for the unimportant jobs.
