Saddle Mountain

Saddle Mountain is an east-west trending ridge bisected by the Columbia River about 10 miles south of Vantage, Washington. Composed of Columbia River basalt flows block-faulted 2000' above the surrounding landscape, Saddle Mountain is famous among rockhounds for colorful petrified wood, among hang-gliders for great soaring and among ORV enthusiasts for lots of open country to ride. The spring flower display in April is spectacular as well.
