The only photo I took today. I worked in the Bibliothèque Nationale, then struggled through the wind to the University of Chicago Center, where I took this photo. With the perspective, the spiral staircase resembles an Archimedean spiral.
It was too nasty to take photos outside (I don't have a rainproof camera housing). The storm that passed through the afternoon of the 17th killed six people in France (one in Paris) and left almost half a million homes without power, some of them through the 19th.
