store fronts in a newly constructed mixed-use development. (There is also a large apartment complex behind it that I presume caters to low-income tennants) It appears that the nearby residents hate this place. Since this was completed about a year ago, crime has presumably gone from next to nothing to 3-4 visits by the police a day. Some of which are the big ones...murder, drugs, prostitution. While I was taking this photo I was approached by a nearby resident who encouraged me to rethink renting out a retail space. (Can't really reconsider what I wasn't thinking in the first place.) I never felt unsafe but I also don't live near here. I do have to wonder if discouraging potential employers to move into an area that has poverty issues is really going to solve anything.
