Nevada Copper Belt Tour - April 1, 2006

We joined Ron C and Gary Y on a tour of the Nevada copper belt West of Yerington, NV. On the way there we stopped at Buckland's Station, an old pony express station, which the state is restoring and stabilizing. After topping up fuel in Yerington, we headed to the mining company town of Weed Heights where we overlooked the Anaconda pit mine, now a large lake. Then we headed toward the mines. After a good stop at Ludwig mine and mill we headed back to Yerington to visit the local county museum.
