Bears in Finland 2010

Once again I went to Finland trying to get some decent bear shots. I was there in early summer 2009 together with my wife Ann-Louise, but did not get any really good pictures. This time I travelled together with my friend Henrik Karlsson from Kalmar. We choose august because of better animal activity an also the chance of getting some hours of sleep in the hide during the darkest time of night. There are also fewer insects during this time of year. We combined 5 nights in different hides near Kuikkajärvi with 2 nights near Viiksimo. The Kuikkan camp is run by Lassi Rautiainen family (www.arcticmedia.fi) and the smaller camp at Viiksimo is run by Boreal Wildlife Center (www.viiksimo.fi).
