Peneda-Gerês National Park



Peneda-Gerês National Park is located in northern Portugal near the Spanish border. It is the only national park in Portugal.
Within its rugged hills, there are deer, wolves and golden eagles. Along the trails there is a Roman road with milestones.
The 17th-century spa town of Gerês is nearby. Lindoso is a traditional village with a medieval castle and stone houses.
To the north, the sanctuary of Our Lady of Peneda from the 19th century towers over a huge staircase.
