A great daywalk near Katoomba in the Blue Mountains, we descended the Golden Stairs, then followed the relatively flat track to the turn off to the ruined castle, a good spot for a lunch break. From here you descend to the main route, followed by a very steep ascent up a knife edged spur to Mount Solitary. There were quite a few people heading out here to camp on the mountain overnight, might have to do the same next time.
