Another way of getting into the Jamison valley! The route descends around 180m in about 6 pitches, depending on which way you go. To get to the top, walk from the gate on the fire trail at Narrow Neck past the Golden stairs carpark. A trail leads off to the left, this is then followed to the top of Castle Head, a spot worth walking to even if you aren't abseiling- the views are amazing. The exit is easy- keep following the same ridge the descent is made on (and the Ruined Castle and Koorowall Knife edge is formed on) until you reach the Ruined castle track. From here, descend and turn left at the Mt Solitary track, climbing up Golden Stairs.
