Chinese New Year at Chinatown.

Every year, a lightup at Chinatown takes place amid the hundreds of stalls that are setup to sell new year goodies and trinkets. Thousands of Chinese Singaporeans descend on the night markets like moths attracted to the light.

If you intend to partake in the festive spirit, remember that the market only start 3 weeks BEFORE the Chinese New Year. The market will end in the early morning hours of the first day of the new year. This year happens to be the Year of the Rooster, hence, you'll see rooster motifs of all kinds everywhere.

If you notice there's an abundance of red, it's because red is a lucky colour to the chinese.

See what's on offer here.
