Aitutaki

Aitutaki has one of the most beautiful lagoons in the Pacific! Unfortunately the weather was not optimal during my 5 nights stay.

Hello Giel!!

When I visited Aitutaki in 2002 the best place to stay was the "Pearl Beach Resort" which I believe has changed name to "Aitutaki Lagoon Resort and SPA".(ALRS)
The best location for beach activities (and the only really good beaches on the main island)is the area on the peninnsula beyond the airport where You find "Ranganuis Retreat" "Popaora Ocean Breeze" "Josies Beach Lodge" "Samade" and (on their own island) the ALRS. (The first 4-5 pics in my Aitutaki Album was taken in that area.)The only drawback about this location is the distance to Arutanga town.

Aitutaki is a very small island and apart from the area I have mentioned, it does not matter very much where You stay. Most of the accomodation is located on the west side, and this side is convenient for restaurants and shopping - and of course, the west side has the gorgeous sunsets!

I stayed at Rinos Beach Bungalows. Good location and a perfectly OK "no frills" place.

We are planning to go to Aitutaki for april. What is considered the best place to stay? And I mean which side of the Island?
