7/18 - Gone But Not Forgotten

BCAD, Ft Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport

These wonderful advertising posters from yesteryear hang in the offices of the Broward County Aviation
Department at the Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport and they tickled my sense of
nostalgia. You see, that first poster represents a lot of my past. It is for Eastern Airlines, the
airline for which my dad was a pilot for 29 years. Sadly, Eastern is no longer with us (just as the
other two airlines represented here are no longer around, Pan Am and Braniff) but for those of us who
worked for Eastern (I was a baggage handler in college for them) it will never be forgotten and will
always be remembered fondly.

I used to fly Braniff 3 or 4 times a year as a kid. They were terrible. Always late and lost my luggage more often than not. I'm not surprised they're gone. I love these. Very cool bit of nostalgia.
