7/3 - Lawn Flags

Home, Front Yard

Every year for Independence Day, a local realtor puts flags at the corner of all the walks up to
houses in our neighborhood. Today I looked out front and noticed that some of the neighborhood kids
decided to "relocate" several of them to my yard. I am sure they meant something juvenile by it and
likely consider some sort of prank. I rather liked it though and so took pics of it.

Love the perspective here, Bob. As to the flag moving, who knows? You get to enjoy 'em so it's a win-win for everyone. (I thought I'd run that idea up the flagpole and see if anyone saluted...lol)

Agreed that is an "Modern Americana" scene. Great angle, puts everything right where it needs to be.

The very low angle makes this a very strong and emotional vantage point. The house is what I perceive as typical American and the flags have just enhanced that feeling. The flags could have been anywhere and in Europe we are seeing them everywhere with regards to the footy World Cup. Most flags have started to dissapear from the cars now that most teams are heading home. There are just so many feelings and emotions connotated to flags and Independance day is definitely one of them. What a fiting shot and one worth more than words. V
