3/6 - Baby Grand

Home, Living Room

This is my wife's antique baby grand piano. Her father found it in fairly bad shape and got it fully restored.
This is a shot I have been thinking about for a while now and I am a bit disappointed with it after the fact. It is the first
shot with this camera that shows the lack of quality in the optics of the kit lens that came with my 7D when left wide open.

I took the flash off the camera and set it on a chair below the piano using the lid as a bounce reflector.

Edit 3/7 It appears I will be doing a series on this at some point soon... *grin*

Beautiful shot & the possibilities are endless with a piano like this. Lines, curves, repetition, dark & light - it's all there - enjoy!

Close the lid and have your wife pose on it for your next shot. ;)

I think it's a good idea for a shot!

I like your point of view, Bob. A lovely bg ( that's not background but baby grand in this case :>)

Not sure what you're grumbling about, the image looks pretty darn good to me! And it's a good idea for a shot, as well. Chin up and keep shooting!

Beauty and art - you captured it well.

I love the lines and shapes.

I wouldn't worry too much about image quality on the decreased resolution pics here.
I like it and it was a "grand idea".
