It had rained all the previous week and this morning the sun and the clouds were having their final fight for dominance of the sky. I was riding along the Katy trail and came across one of the many historical markers. This one was for Daniel Boone's judgment tree, where he metered out justice to the local inhabitants when this was Spanish land. The original tree had died and a young sapling was planted in is place. Someone had planted flowers at the site and this was a good foreground against the drama in the sky.
