Stone Houses of Sabtang Island

Being trapped on Sabtang Island for half a day wasn't all bad. It gave me the time to walk the old houses and capture images missed the first time around.

The photos in this album depict mostly weather-beaten doors and windows in great detail. Their small sizes suggest the design mentality of old, that smaller doors and windows are easier to close when the wind blows strong. The wear and tear on these structures also help reinforce their role through history, sheltering people against a harsh climate in this part of the world.

Sure why not, as long as you have more budgets hehehe. my plan is on april last week until first week of May, because not only Sabtang i wanted to go but more spots in northern parts philippines hope this plan will not postpone again.

It's also nice to emphasized that the doors are only closed for wind protection, never for fear of thieves.... people there are supremely HONEST.... leave your camera anywhere and you can get it when you come back...
