Catalina Island is a rock of an island found off the coast of southern California. There is a narrow beach there but it doesn’t appear to be ideal for swimming, there are just too many sail boats parked in the harbor. Talking about boats in the harbor, the best place to view them is from the very top of Catalina Island. We rented a golf-cart and drove all the way there. The sight took my breath away.

Aside from the opportunity to breathe the fresh air and count the sail boats in the bay, lots of restaurants and small shops line the harbor, guaranteed to keep the tourists busy all day. We weren’t in the mood to shop, but the fish & chips were very, very good.
