Nearly six months later, I still stop frequently, to visit your photo galleries... and let my mind walk through the memories of a hundred dances and a thousand smiles shared with my Friends of Contra.
Bob, you captured the fleeting moments of dance SO well, with a perspective that even those of us IN the dance can't always see. Like the brightest bouquet of flowers that you must enjoy fully today, knowing that the colors and scents fade even in memory -- you have preserved those swirling moments of dance with such clarity that even now I can almost feel the rush and joy shared with some of the best friends I've known. In a sense, these bits of flowering humanity you gathered for us have become both the legacy and gift you gave -- to last even after your own spirit could not be sustained here. (Perhaps even after some of the rest of us will dance little more with the ones we love) Yet Bob, wherever your spirit may fly... I hope you find come contented peace, and know that you were cared for by many.

Bob, thank you for the many ways your photography, your dancing, and your life impacted so many people. I've sent dozens of friends to your website in order to see how you capture the joy of dance. May your soul be at peace now.
To Bob's family: My prayers are with you and with all you love Bob and grieve him.

To Judy, Bob's family and all who knew him, a wish for healing at this moment of loss. We were fortunate to have him in our lives. His strong, gentle spirit still endures in every person he touched. There is so much more than words can speak.

I just wanted to send to you, the family and friends of Bob my deepest and sincerest sympathy for your loss. His work was absolutely wonderful and I can tell he was a very loved man. You now have closure and can give him the best service, "celebration of life" that he deserves. Everyone in Washington Ks will be praying for you, Bob's frineds and family.

Words cannot express the loss we all feel. Knowledge of what we all feared. Sympathy to Judy and all of your family.

Love your talent and thanks for the info on the dance- it is hard to find the right place to go to just meet good people and have simple and wonderful fun. Appreciate your want to make this happen for just anyone to enjoy, your generosity is abundant.

oops Bob-it was the Atlanta weekend dance that I tried to copy photos from.
Thanks again, Cynthia

Bob,
Your photos are wonderful...as usual! Is it possible to purchase some of these? I tried to print one of B and I at the Chattaboogie weekend, and it came out "grain-y" for me. It was nice seeing you and visiting with you last weekend in Atlanta. Cynthia

Bob,
I'm still trying to come down off my "dancer's high" from this magical, high-octane "Chattaboogie" festival! Your photographs are a source of delight & awe for all of us~~you so amazingly capture the pure bliss that is contra dancing. Thanks for your presence & your artistry.

Bob,
I viewed your work for Dance Celebration. They are truly amazing photos. I am especially interested in your technique.
I was also impressed with your portraits.
Can you provide details as to how you shot these wonderful pictures?

Thanks so much for the great photos of LEAF '04. You caught my daughter and her friend coming down the zip line a couple times and I love those shots. Also the dance shots are great.

Bob,

The Atlanta halloween photos look good. Teach me how to use that camera and I'll shoot a few shots of you and Debbie!

Dance the night away

Hi Bob,

I was at FEET RETREAT in NC this past weekend and someone pointed me to your website. Wow! Such great angles and subjects. As a photographer too of contra dancers,I would love to know what camera you use and how you get so much good light and such crisp focus. --Susan

Bob,
I do not believe that we have met. I am a dancer in Atlanta and a photographer. I am writting to say how much I love your photographs. All of the galleries catch the spirit of the moment. I have a couple of technical questions for you. What camera are you using. I notice that there is no flash yet you images are sharp and clear. Hope this finds you well and that we do get to meet someday. - Andy

BOB! I looked at every one of your shots...all I can say is "awesome". I really like the ones of the musicians at BugStomp and seeing friends at that dance and What the Hey -- it's like looking at pictures of family -- thanks for sharing your gift so freely. One question -- will you let some photographer better than me shoot you while you're dancing? You need to be among the memories, too! Big crazy hug, Lisa

Bob, your photos of Dance Trance are so wonderful and bring the weekend vividly back. I am a dancer and painter, and especially paint many dancers and musicians. Would you possibly consider giving me permission to use some of your photos as reference? I would give you credit if you like. You can see some of my paintings, if it will help you decide, athttp://www.llcundiff.com

Thanks so much for the visual treat!
