Tip-2-tip it was a bit larger than an old US silver dollar.
These are harmless, in fact, they eat other bugs and are
a great benefit. Fast - darting movements, they chase down
their prey and have good eyesight. I was able to get one shot
about 3 ft away, then this shot about 2 ft, but he panicked when
I tried a closer shot.

okay this just creeps me out. How big is this spider? eeek. and what were you doing this close to it??
