Hyderabad, it is a very good lens for it's price. The focus is not as fast as the more expensive proprietary lenses. It is very versatile with the zoom and has a short minimum focus distance (8 feet) which can come in handy for close-ups like butterflies or shooting from inside a bird blind. The quality of picture without any software enhancement is average. You would need to get a brand name prime for the best quality out of camera shooting and faster focus. Hope that helps.

Bob I came to know that you use Tamron 200-400/5.6 for shooting wildlife and birds. I want to know about your experience with this lens as intend to buy the lens.
