Aviation in Tucson, Arizona

Tucson is a great place for aviation buffs. The Pima Air Museum is excellent. They provide tours of the Bone Yard as Davis Monthan Air Force Base as well. Also, each year Davis Monthan hosts an air show, which in 2002, included the Thunderbirds. Northwest of Tucson, the Evergreen Air Center has a large storage facility for unwanted airliners.

Thanks for the photo's I spent 30 years in the cocpit of TWA'S airplanes. retired in 98. brings back memories

Just found your site. Fantastic! I served in the 803rd ABG and the 43rd ARefS from 1956 'til early 1959 during the height of the Cold War. I miss seeing the B-47s and KC-97s on your site and hope you can add them. The Bone Yard pictures bring tears to my eyes. How could we have destroyed all of those fine birds? Anyway, thanks for a fine site and reminding us of some fantastic memories!

An excellent gallery. I did some flying in Arizona in '98 and visited the Pima museum (superb), saw Marana from the air but never got to tour Davis-Monthan. There's some fascinating stuff there.
