Sannu, Sannu. I was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Dosso from 1986-1988. (Wow! That sounds like ancient history now that I say it!) I've been trying to explain what things were like --and still ARE like ---to my little boy and I started cruising the internet for information. Looks like not too much has changed! My son and I are contemplating a fund raiser for Doctors without Borders so that they can buy and distribute more Plumpynut (see Anderson Cooper Story October 2007--apparently plumpynut is a cheap, locally produced answer to malnutrition). Anyway--thanks for your site. It's good to know people are still wandering about with unbiased "beginners eyes." Keep wandering and posting.
