The dry forests around Ranthambhore Fort are home to around 30 tigers. A former hunting ground for the maharajas of Jaipur, 1334 square km around Rathambhore is now protected as a national park. The likelyhood of spotting a tiger on one of the twice daily 3 hour game drives is said to be 30%, but on my 3 drives I had to settle for tiger tracks, though there is plenty of other wildlife in the park to see, if you can get the drivers to slow down. Hot and dry March and April are the best months for tiger viewing.
