After the 15 year Civil War ended in 1991, significant progress has been made to rebuild Beirut, and the Lebanese are now attempting to reattract travellers to their beautiful country, although there are still significant scars remaining.

I am 41 y.o and was Born in Brazil, my father is lebanese and i have been living in Europe for 16 years, In June 2010 i will make a dream come true...I will visit Lebanon by the first time in my life! hi we are from australia lebanon is the best place to be at its very beautiful and there is lots of hot guys and nice people we think u should go and visit i was there for a holiday i didnt wanna come back thats how kool it was. :)

I lived in Beirut from 1962-1966, about a block from Pigeon Rocks in an apartment above a Donald Duck Toy Store and a Pizzeria. Probably the best pizza I've ever had anywhere in the world. Your pictures of Pigeon Rocks are the best I've seen. I remember renting a kayak from one of the beach clubs and going through the hole in Pigeon Rocks. I attended the American Community School in Beirut, Down the hill from AUB. Walking home from school in the afternoon I would stop by a stand and buy a Shawarma or bread from a vendor. I really miss the Shawarmas and the bread vendors. I can get Gyros where I live, but they are not the same.

I lived in Beirut in jaledib and thought it was a beautiful place with very friendly people. such a shame to see that they have problems again.

We will have to rebuild Beirut again. All that effort by Solidaire and Lebanese and foreign investors is going to waste thanks to Israel. We will rebuild again, and Israelis are not welcome in Beirut.
