Bruce,
Thank you for sharing this work. I fully appreciate the contrast and density of the work. We take so many things for granted and our natural surroundings is one of them. The content is perfect, your composition is dead on and the element of movement and activity in one image and calm passive stillness in others is a perfect balance. I have met thousands of photographers who are world renowned and at the top 1% of the tier. What is interesting, is the fact that when I have met them, they are taking questions about equipment, processing, printing, materials, etc. I am the guy most of them did not want to ask a question. I never ask the question of gear and equipment. I beg the question, "Why did you photograph the content that is layed out before us and what is the substance that YOU see in these images. I would enjoy knowing that from you and you may choose not to answer. The late Thomas Merton photographed our ordinary surroundings(what seems tto be on the surface) and drew from those ordinary images those moments that he was standig there, and found understanding in that moment. You have probably seem some of his work, if not, bellermaine university in Louisville has over 3,000 of hi archives.
If these are dig images, they look well above par. Thanks again and I am sorry I did not get to come Thursday to meet you. I had palnned my whole week to be there but I could not make it in to town until Friday and it was late so I could not stop to see the work but I will be in soon and stop in to see it. I have been living in Columbus Ohio for the past month. I am from Louisville. Be well and hope I get to meet you some time to chat.
