Cyanea Colonies 15jul10

2 cyanea colonies found near each other July 15, 2010 off Stainback Highway. The first colony looked like cyanea platyphylla - particularly one upright skinny plant with few leaves, as expected for cyanea platyphylla. The second was not obviously platyphylla or tritomantha. The first colony was 4+ plants and plant fragments, on pig trail and heavily pig trampled. The second colony was 17+ plants at the edge of a pig wallow, mostly trampled flat to ground but one upright and healthy. I covered the surrounding area somewhat extensively. The two colonies are 43 meters apart. The nearest lone cyanea tritomantha is 82 meters away, and the nearest cyanea platyphylla cluster I know of is 407 meters away.
