This emission nebula is about 4000 light years away, located
in the southern constellation Ara. The open cluster of stars
in the middle of this area, NGC 6193, is made up of very young,
hot stars. Their formation was probably set off a couple of million
years ago by the supernova explosions of the previous generation of
stars, which enriched this area with, among other elements, the oxygen
that glows blue in this image.
