Old Barn in Need of Repair

The mentioning of fall colors below prompts me to address something I find unusual about this winter. In addition to the beeches, which usually hold their dry leaves until spring, I've noticed this year that a large number of white oaks seem to be holding them as well. This photo was taken just yesterday afternoon.
Today the gloom has returned.

The light was so pretty in this one. I would have guessed October, not January.

Great colours, looks more like November than January! That old barn looks like it's been there forever.

Nice shot, Buz. I love the uneven overlap of the sheathing on the side of the barn. Great texture and color.

Oh no, don't repair it, I like it just as it is :>) It's now official, here in Australia, 2005 was our warmest in the past 100 years of records. A team of scientists have gone to Antarctica to study global warming. I don't expect the data is going to be good...

Such a beautiful composition. The light and saturation are spot on. The grey returned here last night after a brief glimpse of winter glory :(

True enough with live oaks as they don't lose their leaves all at once. They hold them through the winter, and then lose some in spring as new leaves come in but this loss is so gradual and so spread out they appear to stay green all year. But what I'm noticing are white oaks and they are holding brown, dead leaves. Just went outside and counted six very large white oaks near the house that are holding their leaves. I don’t recall this happening before.

Nice composition and colors, Buz our live oaks hold there leaves untill spring or heavy snow knocks them off.

Hi Buz, your will composed image has many strong features, which uses the fence as a leading line and the trees help too show case your subject, the barn. The natural light is very nicely captured in your image as will, nicely done...

Nice scene with vibrant colors. Here in the prairies we have many of these structures still around.

This reminds me of an old barn on the farm where I grew up. It blends in nicely with the landscape.

It seems as though the tree to the right is following the barn's lead. Great shot!
