With this marble (along with Sakurakaneyo), Masa continues to work to express in spherical form the traditional culture of Japan. The theme of this marble is Fujin Raijin. They are the gods of wind and thunder....God's weather. Japan is in the season to plant rice now, and Masa also cultivates rice. They pray to the Fujin Raijin in hopes of a bountiful harvest, but it is a prayer that is based in the tradition of Japan rather than religious thought. Fujin Raijin is a very solemn God, and so Masa used a blend of several types of silver leaf in order to express the solemnity of Fujin Raijin.

Once again, I am absolutely blown away by this marble. It is crazy incredible in hand, much better than the pictures show, brighter and soooo vibrant! It is perfectly executed, perfectly masked and carved and inlaid. It is very difficult to summon the strength to let this one go....

Due to the fact that this marble has large areas of silver leaf on it, you will not want to spin/roll this marble around on its stand. Instead, pick it up and turn it in hand in order to protect the finish. Since these marbles cannot be signed traditionally, Masa has stamped the wooden box it comes in with his name and the date of '2016'.
