Yes this is an Orchid!

Almost the first shot of the day!! This is actually the fifth shot but the first is "almost" exactly the same shot ;0)
Had a great day at the Smithsonian greenhouses today, but I knew the
shot of the day was the first plant I worked.

The shot of this bloom was actually perfectly timed (sometimes its better to be lucky) as the
large ear shaped petals will bend backwards fairly soon.

I have a large collection of some great shots from this week and hope to post several tomorrow.
