Bryce Sunrise

Bryce Canyon NP, UT

It's not just about the light, it's all about the light

This shot was taken shortly after sunrise as the light crept down into the canyon.
The backlighting was superb but then the reflections off some of the hoodoos caused
the others to look like they were glowing. And yes I was excited and talking to myself
as I saw this in the viewfinder ;o)

I worked the previous similar post on my laptop which is small and has a
widescreen layout so the earlier post was in landscape mode. This shot
kept telling me it was better and so I finished it today and will probably
print it tonight to hang in my office tomorrow.
I didn't use this shot as a Pad because it was so similar but any comments
are ceratainly appreciated.

Great light and composition. You are right about the reflecting light making the hoodoos seem like they are glowing. Voted.

I understand your effort here. I was in Oct last year and the evening shadows and light really surrond this magical place. Great photo

Excellent light. I actually like the landscape version better, but I'm not sure why.
