Fallon NV

Quick story about this PPaD

I was walking around the deserts of Nevada and was loudly informed I was intruding.
I stepped back only to find there was nothing behind me. My Sony DSC still has the war wounds.
So after trying to catch my breath, and a couple of shots of the noisy beast
(none of which turned out) I started to drive back out to the main highway and this snake was stretched out across the one lane raod.
Naturally I stopped and at great distance took advantage of the Sony's great Zeiss telephoto to get some better shots.
Well after I was done I tried to get this poor snake to leave the road so I could go home to no avail.
After his great posing I couldn't run over him so I drove my rental Grand Am off the road in the sand around this snake.

This shot is of the snake looking at my car from no more than two feet away as I drove by.

Great shot! We feared finding one of these all through Death Valley and Nevada, but neither saw nor heard one. Thank goodness!

Nice shot, and thanks for not harming the critter. I have seen only three or four snakes in my desert travels, but cannot say that any one of them was a rattler. I would be thrilled to see one---at a safe distance.

Great shot Bryan! Thanks for the reminder! Though I never saw one snake while I was out there!! :-( Did keep my eyes and ears open while hiking through grasses and over rocks though! Excellent detail in this shot!

Yikes I am hyperventilating. He blends into the sand so well :)
