MEET WINKY .jpg

Winky looks quite different than his first photo.I went to pick him up at the vet hospital, turned out he was not a girl but a very big boy, partly due to the fact he has been in the hospital for the past three months, and had been well fed during his recovery after the operation. The story about him was also very different than I had first been told, he did not have a diseased as I was first led to believe. His eye had been gauged out by some kids, he was traced back to the owner (via his microchip) who had dumped him in the streets,(it was his kids that did it)when confronted he did not want him back and did not want to pay the vet bills. No one came forth to adopt him, he would have been put down as Melodie would have. They are now settling in, but still a bit frightened and skittish,.They are in the house and it will be awhile before they can go out in the enclosure with the other cats.

Not only the shot is great 'photographically', the story behind the scene is even touching! Thanks for you caring to poor Winky!

Like Zoey, another little darling on PBase, everytime Winky will look at you, his wink will say... I love you. He'll be sooooo happy with you, cared for, in security and protected and most of all, loved. No more harm will ever come to him. The cruelty that some human show is beyond me... why ? What's the point ? It may be mean to say so, but I really wish that someone, somewhere, someday, will do to that kid what he did to Winky... it'll be well deserved. But he has to live with what he's done, it's in his mind ... in his nightmares. Winky will get over it with your love...
He's gorgeous by the way... Thanks for protecting, caring and loving him Birte and Henry.
