21st - Framed

West Woods, Cleeve Common, Glos. view map

The best it got today - low cloud, dull weather and awful light made for a pretty uneventful walk...

...I don't know if it's just me, but at 'original' size the pic looks horrible - all blurriness alternating with areas of oversharpened-ness...best view at 'large' size methinks!

Nikon D700 ,Nikkor 24-85mm f/2.8-4D AF
1/30s f/22.0 at 24.0mm iso800 full exif

other sizes: small medium large original auto

This one is really great with the strong contrast of the limbs playing on the soft countryside. V

Beautifully framed with lovely tones.

Super B&W, lots of good sharp detail.

I really like this shot! I love the way you have framed this with the skeletal branches adding a moodiness to this landscape.

seems to me all of England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland suffered the same weather this past few days....still got a good shot though!

Just a few weeks back still in leaf and full of colour - but each stage has its plus side - love the detail of the silhouetted trees.
Mairéad21-Nov-2010 20:38
Those branches make great patterns across the sky - one benefit of winter, I guess.

Beautiful B&W photo, Doug. V.

Nicely framed with the branches.

Yes, it's been a bleak one, hasn't it! Your original is choc-full of jpeg artefacts - it's all that detail y'see. To get rid of them on a pic with this much detail would mean a humungous file size :o/

bleak and dreary scene animated by the tangle of branches...evokes the day perfectly...V

A typical November day well captured, Doug. It does seem to look better at "large" size. Not sure why!

...it might be your lens! :) Now seriously, it´s normally better to view in Original size!
I love your strong framing and the mood in this shot!

PS. Most of mine look better viewed at small size :-)

I know just what you mean

very well framed with the complex silhouette of the tree and the view over the fields. You are getting some very nice results with your 24-85.

Hey that's unusual. It's usually the large size that doesn't work. Nice framing
