Cranes in US and China

Seeing huge, ancient birds in the US and on our trip to China moved Mike and me to capture some of our feelings in pictures. The voices of these birds are eerie echoes of the distant past, and we recommend your trying to see and hear them at the same time. Chat for cranes is a low, resonant chuckling sound that is very distinctive. Bugling and other calls are much louder.
