These images are of a hatchling bird that my son and daughter-in-law found one day. My DIL named him "Blue".

Over the course of 48 hours they tended to this tiny creature with warming pads and feedings every 30 min or so around the clock. Statistically, there was a 95% chance that Blue would not survive 24 hrs but he beat those odds.

Over 72 hours, he got stronger, started moving aound his shoebox home on his own, his "I'm Hungry/Thirsty" cheep got way stronger, he proved several times that his entire GI system was functioning well on both ends LOL and he even started to show initial signs of feathers.

These images are from the 4th day and were taken just before Blue left to go to a licensed Wildlife Rehabilitator. As much as we all wanted to see him grow, we had to concede that we just don't have the skill and time necessary to properly hand raise a 4 day old chick to health.

Blue's chances still aren't great (50/50 at best) but he's got a better shot now than we could have hoped.
