Something "rarely" seen in a honeybee colony. Look carefully and you will see "Two Queens".
Only a temporary situation till the young supercedes the old.
We found these two in a colony while doing a pre-winter check in November.
The "old" queen is the one on the right, a dark queen which was marked with green paint.
The "new" queen is on the left, much lighter in color and unmarked.
