Used the selection tool on the dark sky, feathered the selection,
applied a mask and snapped the blend using the gradation tool.
This job was a PITA though, with the powerlines, lighthouse peak,
and background horizen.

very interesting. Hope you don't mind asking, but could you explain the process of how you did this more thoroughly? Would be much appreciated.
I shot alot of landscapes, and I run into this alot. I have been using 2 exposures frequently and/or I process my RAW files twice.
Generally I just use the magic wand & feather approach, but I don't know what you mean by applying a mask or using the gradient tool, etc.
I'll say this: you did a great job from what I can see!!! and with a fairly complex set of lines to deal with!!!
