Eastern State Penitentiary

In the Nineteenth Century this was considered an enlightened model for prison reform. Today it is a tourist site and offers many opportunities for HDR photography. Comments about my images are always welcome.

These of course were horrendous conditions in which to store anyone. But in context of the day our local Kingston Pen., built in 1832 and still in use, had cells only as wide as the narrow Murphy bed it contained, that left only about 18" when it was down. They have long since been replaced.
