| Each dancer performed with either a poi, staff, or wand that was lit with fire. As they spun around, the dancers' precisely coordinated movements created a dreamy, almost mystical sight. From afar, each person seemed to be engulfed in a vortex of flame, while from up close, despite their extreme proximity to the fires (some even put flame staff into their mouths), none of the dancers displayed event a hint of pain or fear. Instead, what they showed were graceful fire-handling abilities and extraordinary composure. And for all their fearlessness, the dancers never forgot to tease the audience with witty movements and facial expressions, to remind us that they were not just pyromaniacs, but entertainers first and foremost.
