Stone Lagoon School

Named for the nearby Stone Lagoon, the school district was placed on the map in 1893. This one room school opened in 1899, in a land that is well known for its redwood forests. When the area schools were consolidated into the Big Lagoon School in 1958, this colorful schoolhouse closed its doors forever.
