Yankee Jims Bridge - North Fork American River

This is California gold country made famous by the Gold Rush of 1849! The 150ą foot long, one-lane steel cable suspension bridge was constructed circa 1929 to serve as a reliable all-season link between the gold towns of Colfax, Yankee Jims and Foresthill, California. Cables are anchored into bedrock and supported by short steel towers resting on stone masonry piers at each end of the structure. Current load limit is 3 tons.
