A variety of shorebirds and waterfowl can be found at A. H. "Pappy" Elkins Lake
in Dalworthington Gardens. In addition to the many resident birds, many other
migratory birds visit the lake during the winter. Pictured left to right:

Top row: Mallard drake, American Wigeons, and Ring-Billed Gull.
Second row: Great Blue Heron, Green Heron, Mallards, and Great Egret.

During the snowstorm of February 11, 2010, a very large number of Mallards and
American Wigeons around the lake. The background is a panoramic view of
Pappy Elkins Lake.
