John O'Neill of Swiftboat Veterans For Truth & Col. Patterson on Clinton
A double dose of critics of presidential candidate John F. Kerry and former President Bill Clinton at the Commonwealth Club. As a public issue forum the Club has not shied away from controversial figures, including liberals such as film maker Michael Moore, comedian/polemicist Al Franken (Stuart Smalley), writer Norman Mailer, and cleric-turned-candidate Al Sharpton and many others on all sides of the political spectrum. On this day the current Democratic candidate and his presidential predecessor took it on the chin from people who were in a position to know what really happened at key moments in their careers (which are now also key moments in history).
POSTSCRIPT: The Swift Boat Veterans have been credited with helping to defeat John Kerry by raising serious questions about his character and his post-Vietnam War activities to which he either would not or could not respond. Despite the charges, Kerry refused to release his Vietnam era diary and refused to sign Form 180 to release his military records. Kerry did not receive an "honorable discharge" until after Jimmy Carter's amnesty program took effect.
What great Patriots. When I hear these Liberals say We rushed to war on false pretenses. I say they hate America. When they say the Constitution isn't a political tool. I tell'em to READ THE BIBLE. When they say there is no link between Iraq and 9/11 I SAY TRAITOR. Love it or leave it
