Icons on Gilded Bible detail bottom.jpg

Kremlin Armory, Moscow, Russia

This is a detail taken through protective glass of one of the four gospel writers taken from the extreme bottom right corner of the Bible image. It is viewed at 100% or "actual pixels," as the Photoshop people would say.

The Nikkor 60mm f2.8 AF-D Micro lens on the Nikon D2x captured this detail with stunning sharpness, saturation, and contrast. This image is ultra-sharp even here in the bottom right corner due to the perfect lens-camera combination. The DX sensor format, with a 1.5x crop factor seems to yield terrific edge to edge sharpness and no visible vignetting with any Nikkor lens that I own, and I own a lot of them.
