October 13, 2002, Fleet Week Air Show Over San Francisco Bay
The Blue Angels are one of the world's premiere military aerial demonstration groups, i.e., daredevils in big blue jets. All images are taken with the Nikkor 300mm f4 AF, some with the Tamron (or Kenko) 1.4x Pro Teleconverter. This teleconverter matches well with the 300mm f4, and together with the 1.5x crop of the D100, produces a field of view equal to a 630mm lens on a 35mm film camera. The San Francisco Chamber of Commerce apologizes for the hazy conditions, but the air show was great as usual.
