"In Honor of My Father"

January 8, 2014 would have been my father’s 100th birthday!

Happy Birthday Poppa! My father was born 100 years ago today in the village of Soveria Mannelli in the Calabria Region of Southern Italy.
His family was poor and part of the immigration to America seeking a better life. He came to America at 17-years-old and never did return to Italy.
My father died of a massive heart attack on January 31, 1973 when I was a senior in college.
