Clyde Butcher Venice Gallery & Studio

We visited the Clyde Butcher Venice Gallery & Studio in the afternoon of March 7, 2013. Photos are permitted only in the studio part of the building and not in the gallery rooms.
The studio part included the darkroom and the framing/matting room. Clyde was not present on this day, so we were fortunate to be able to be in the darkroom...lots of photos here in this post.
His daughter manages his marketing and business and I have spoken to her on many times both in Big Cypress and now here in Venice. She, and Clyde, are just so friendly and willing to share time with you and answer all questions.
As was Paul, Clyde's young apprentice, shown in two of these photos. There are probably 50+ framed images hanging through the Gallery & Studio building in Venice.
They give you a very well done booklet to use while perusing the gallery in which Clyde tells stories behind the images and their locations. There is also a great video made in 1992 to view.

Clyde and his wife, Nikki, are leaving in late March for a five-month trip in their small camper to visit the National Parks of the Southwestern and Western part of the USA.

Clyde Butcher is a national treasure and his prints and art simply are stunning to view...especially those 5x8 FOOT prints in which you really feel part of the scene.
