On November 8, 2013 I was driving near Historic Yellow Springs and decided to stop for a brief visit.
The history of HYS dates over 300 years. In the 18th and 19th Centuries it was a country spa.
During the Revolutionary War it was commissioned as a hospital; after the war returning to its spa purpose.
In the early 20th Century it served as the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts Country School.
In the mid-20th Century it was a film production area.
Today, the mission of Historic Yellow Springs is to "share, preserve, and celebrate the unique living village of Yellow Springs.
Focusing on history, arts, education, and the environment, Historic Yellow Springs enriches the lives of all who come here".
